ABOUT OUR SMALL BUSINESS

After the passing of John's father in 2020, John chose to carry on with the sawmill his dad had established in Gray, ME. In 2021, Strout Family Lumber was born. Following his mother's passing in 2023, John moved the sawmill to Raymond, ME, where he and his wife now run the business together. What began as a heartfelt tribute has grown into a small, family-run operation built on quality and local roots.

We mill our own lumber and create custom projects from trees that are locally sourced. Every board we cut carries a piece of our family's story-a legacy of hard work, love for the craft, and the dream John's father always had of building his own business.
